Released:-1997

This is a strictly rock ‘n roll album. Surrounded by a tight and familiar band, Rick riffs his way through an hour of guitar-combo based rock. There are interludes- Deep In the Darkest Night (with a lovely acoustic arrangement) and Somewhere Along the Road will be familiar to followers of the Kemps from the times of ‘Happy Families’ but principally this is a seasoned rocker at his best. Fans of Steeleye may recognise something of the edge Rick brought to the Spanners in his early days but there is little of folk in this. My fave track is ‘Over My Head’ and watch out for a cameo from Maddy Prior with her regulars Nick Holland and Troy Donockley as well as old Spanner John Kirkpatrick.
